Singing Techniques
Developing good singing techniques is important otherwise you'll be working too hard when you sing and eventually your voice will start croaking and you'll tire out. Without good technique, you won't be able to sing effortlessly and you sure as heck won't be enjoying it as much as you could and should.
Your singing voice should come out just as easily as your speaking voice. That way you won't be straining your voice box to sing and you won't be using other muscles to force out certain sounds. It has to come comfortably, freely, and naturally. With some training, your singing voice will come just naturally as your speaking voice.
You have to be relaxed when you sing. When you feel the tension building up in your face and vocal cords, you have to loosen up and relax. Nerves will cause your vocal cords to constrict and become dry and you won't be able to make a clear sound. Your voice will then become hoarse and tired. When you feel this happening, take a deep breath and maybe drink some water.
Try to keep your face natural like when you are speaking. You don't have to twist your face and mouth to try to make yourself sound better. Just keep your vocal cords relaxed and natural. Don't exaggerate the the sounds.
Listen to the audio samples provided in the Singing Program and compare sample 1 and 2. The first example is a voice that tries too hard and therefore doesn't sound natural and full. The second example is a voice that produces a fuller and clearer sound. If you sound like the first example, this doesn't mean you don't have potential. You just need more practice and training in singing techniques.
If you don't already have it, Singorama is the singing program that provides tons of training exercises and techniques to improve your singing voice. Use the provided mini recording studio to hear yourself sing and then after practicing with the lessons for a couple of weeks, record yourself again and you will notice an improvement.
That's because you will learn to recognize 36 notes on the chromatic scale, your vocal range will increase, and you will find it easier to hit the right notes, thus making you a better singer overall.
