Vocal Warm Up Exercises to Do Before a Singing Session.
Vocal Warm Up Exercises are an important part of singing. They're useful for getting your voice ready for a singing session and helping you to relax right before you sing in front of an audience. Vocal Warm Up Exercises also help decrease the chances of you injuring your voice box when you have to sing those difficult notes.
Sirening
With your mouth slightly open and lips kept still, make the "ng" sound starting with a low note and "siren" up and down the scale, going low to high and back down to low again. The sound should be vibrating and your nose will feel it. If you do it right, you should sound like the audio sample included in Singorama. Listen to it and hear if you're doing it correctly. If you need help singing scales, launch the mini recording studio from the Singing Program and practice with the virtual piano.
Start at a low note and scale to the top as high as you can go and back down hitting each note on the scale. Listen to the example in the Singing Program (if you have it) to make sure you're doing it correctly.
Lip Roll
This one takes some practice but is one of the best vocal warm up exercises to improve your breathing and vocal range.
Okay, relax your face muscles and make the "br" sound until it vibrates. Kind of difficult eh? You'll get better. Lip roll with a low note and scale up for five notes and back down again. An example of this vocal warm up exercise can also be heard in the Singorama Program if you have it.
These vocal warm up exercises will help loosen up your vocal muscles and clear up mucus. Remember to drink plenty of water to keep your vocal cords hydrated.
Singorama provides lots of exercises to strengthen your vocal cords and improve your vocal range if you need even more.
